Advent Calendar: Ultimate December Activity Guide
You have been with your host family for a while now and want to make some great memories.
We know that Aupair’s pocket money does not last long! Let your lack of funds not stop your creativity. In fact the less money you have to spend, the more priceless your ideas might become.

What you will need!
Now is a good time to get started! You will need a bit of time to collect the parts.
- Toilet paper core’s
- Native cones, flowers, leaves
- Numbers drawn on or to stick on
- Glue, scissors, sticky tape,
- Christmas string
- Wrapping paper
- Activity ideas
- Sweets or other trinkets (optional)
Before you start, ask your host parents (and the host children) not to throw the toilet paper cores away. Trust me someone will be very happy that you beating everyone to ‘changing the roll’ task!
Alternatively, ask at the local coffee shops and collect at end of the day/week. Just tell them nicely that you are working on a craft project and need many rolls. Best to print a sign to put in the toilets and a little basket for them to be placed and stick it with blue tag.
Ultimately, it could take you a good week or two to collect 24 rolls. If you don’t have enough rolls, you can also replace the rolls with envelopes. Just have fun with it and don’t get stressed. This is just one way to do it!
