Phase 3 Lockdown on the Way: How Families Can Prepare
Premier Daniel Andrews has ordered Victorians to stay home as the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state reached 968. It is discouraged to go outside the house unless it’s necessary. Businesses that are required to close down includes real estate auctions, beauty services such as nail salons and spas, as well as public swimming pools and community centres. Among the many businesses that will remain open are supermarkets, pharmacies, and convenience stores. Schools are due to return on April 14 at this stage, while kindergartens and childcare centres remain open.
However, Andrews warned Victorians that phase three shutdown is on its way. If this happens, there’s a high possibility for schools and childcare centres to completely close until further notice and our hospitals will be busier than ever. For busy working families and our front liners whose jobs are considered “essential,” this could mean they will be needing help caring for their children, elderly parents or family members with disabilities.
The news may cause panic and worry to some, but it is also our responsibility to first take action and help the community as best as we can. We understand that as parents, our main priority will always be our kids and for other families with elderly parents or family members with disabilities, finding a trustworthy individual who can take care of their loved ones is a must.
The best time to act before the phase three lockdown is now!
