How Is an Aupair Different from a Demi Pair in Sydney?

With an Aupair arrangement, families are expected to provide, in addition to meals and accommodation, pocket money for the Aupair that they can spend in their free time. Since a demi pair provides fewer hours of childcare, while still living with the family, they usually don’t get pocket money. Of course, this is subject to change, and if at any point, additional hours of childcare are needed, they could discuss that with the demi pairs and agree on a fair rate.
What Are the Responsibilities of a Demi Pair?

The most important thing you probably need to know is childcare, and that’s what demi pairs do, for the most part. They’re responsible for preparing children’s lunch bags and school bags, they’re responsible for putting toys away and keeping children’s rooms clean, preparing children for school or kindergarten, and keeping children entertained. The list of responsibilities is very similar to that of a nanny, although a demi pair spends much less time doing them, which is the key difference.
Aside from this, it is expected for them to keep their living area clean, and every once in a while, help the family out with day-to-day housekeeping duties. A thing to keep in mind is that demi pairs living in your home are primarily responsible for your children, and their studies, so housekeeping might not be a thing they can focus on. As we mentioned, this is subject to agreement between the family and the demi pair , which is something to keep in mind.
